How many times have you heard the expression “I’m not moving ’til they carry me out feet first?” Building and managing a community is one thing, selling it is another.

Being instrumental in opening four retirement communities over the past 19 years, some of Donna's responsibilities were developing a move-in plan for the building, creating a move-in packet for new residents and designing every apartment as each senior moved in. She both consulted with retirement communities to enhance their sales and marketing strategies and worked internally “in a pinch” as Director of Sales at 3 retirement communities.

Below is a list of services Ultimate Moves provides:

  • Design and give seminars for prospective residents and their families. Discuss how parents and children can help each other to make a tough decision that will have a major effect on everyone’s lives. A very successful program I give is “Downsizing Without a Breakdown, Living in and Decorating a Smaller Space.”
  • Give moving seminars at soon-to-open and newly opened communities. One of these seminars is entitled "Sidestepping the Pitfalls of Moving" and assists the marketing department in selling apartments while reassuring seniors that a move does not have to be overwhelming. They will receive concrete information on how to make the move as stress-free as possible.
  • Develop and implement personalized moving plans for communities and hire/train move-in coordinators and supplying support materials. Utilizing an experienced or well-trained move-in coordinator allows the marketing department to focus on sales and assures the resident a smooth transition. Ultimate Moves has developed a training program that can be presented at annual marketing meetings.
  • Present training sessions for the marketing staff to learn the best ways to approach and work with seniors. Profiling the different types of seniors who move to communities and how to utilize that information to help the marketing department sell.
  • Consult with communities who are having problems. Analyze the situation and offer constructive ideas to solve present and future troubles. Having been to over 450 senior complexes, Ultimate Moves staff understands the dynamics involved in running a successful and profitable community. Shop communities.
  • Supply developers and management companies with copies of "Moving Mom and Dad" at a discount price to give to “fence sitters” or “resistors” -- the ones who just can’t seem to make up their mind.
  • Provide advice on product and unit development, consult with architects and builders on new communities and design the interiors. Ultimate Moves has created numerous model apartments for a variety of communities and after having moved over 3000 people, we know what works and what does not.
